(11/06/09) Congratulations to Lady Chiefs senior, Makenzie Smith! On Wednesday 11/4 Makenzie signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Columbia College. Makenzie was awarded a full ride to join the Lady Cougars at the conclusion of her high school career. Columbia College
is a private co-educational liberal arts university established in 1851 and based in Columbia, MO. Joining Makenzie at the signing were her mother Janice, father Ron, brother, Kickapoo head coach Stephanie Phillips, and Columbia College head coach Mike Davis.
(11/6/09) Congratulations to Lady Chiefs senior, Kellyn Allison! Kellyn was recognized this past week by the Downtown Rotary Club with the Outstanding Senior award for her academic accomplishments at KHS. The Downtown Rotary Club recognizes Springfield High School students each month. They are introduced to the audience by Springfield Superintendent, Dr. James Ridder and they must state who they are and what their plans are for the future.
